Is this a local service business with fewer than 20 staff?

Local lead lists mix everything: one-van plumbers, regional chains, franchise brands, and shops that are not service businesses at all. If your offer fits small local operators, the rest is noise.

Is this a local service business with fewer than 20 staff?

The question has two parts, type and size, and size is the hard part. Lists rarely carry headcount, so some answers will rest on hints. Add an employees or description column to give it more to go on.

In Columns you put the full question in the column header: "Is this a local service business with fewer than 20 staff?" Each row gets a yes or no and a confidence number. Expect low confidence where headcount is a guess. Sort by it, and check those rows yourself or ask your VA to.

The five rows below are real public brands, some of them franchise networks. Press Run it and see how the demo handles the mix. Then upload your list.

How it works

  1. 1Upload a CSV.
  2. 2Paste the question as a column header.
  3. 3Sort by confidence, check the low ones.

Every answer comes with a confidence number. Sort by it and read the uncertain rows first, instead of all of them.

Questions

How does it know headcount?
It only has what is in the row. If your sheet has an employees column, it uses that. Without one it estimates, and the confidence is lower when it is guessing.
Can I split this into two questions?
Yes. Make one column for type and one for size. That is two row-questions per row.
What counts as local?
Whatever you write in the header. Reword the question to match your own definition and run again.

Free plan: 500 row-questions. Paid plans from $29/mo.
